July 04 The Polytechnic University 香港理工大學The Polytechnic University What is so special in this university ? ----All the buildings here in this university are built in two elements, circles and straight lines.? These two are the basic elements of all designs. Besides this, when you look up to the night sky, there's a Mars Express (火星快車)overhead; that is the machine now in Mars for collection of rocks, is designed by a pundit (專家)of machinery, a professor in the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. The buildings in this university are simply linked up by circles at four corners and lines to join those circles together. It stands for basic elements of technical designs are just these two elements and tell others they are specialize in such designs. Thus their shape comes out as in the following pictures :
The Hong Kong Polytechnic College was upgraded into a university in 1994, before that it was a famous local vocational school. So it carries on its tradition even now. Before it was upgraded to a university, its has been famous for a lot of vocational courses ranging from several months to two years. And now, it is also famous for the one year or two year diploma or even the associate bachelor degree (副學士學位). That is one who passes the associate bachelor degree; credits will be exempted when he or she is going to carry on the third year or fourth year of bachelor degree. Most of my students are from the Business School, and some of them would even ask how to become a licensed stock broker in Hong Kong. You have to take the exam but before that, you have to attend a 3-month course first. Where ? In the Polytechnic University; it is one of their extension course (校外課程). Lectures will be given in the evening; once a week and each lesson last for 3 hours. The fee will be about HK$1,500. If you think it’s too expensive, then you can come to join the course in the Sincere Finance Holding Limited, where the major lecture is me, and you can be my lecturee again. Besides that, there are a lot of special subjects in the Polytechnic University, just see the photo underneath; even there is an institute especially for the design of underwear. There are some subjects in the Polytechnic University, which is the sole provider in Hong Kong. That means no other university in Hong Kong can provide such a terrain of knowledge (知識領域) in the field of : Design, Engineering Physics, Fashion & Textiles, Geomatics, International Shipping & Transport Logistics, Medical Laboratory Science, Optometry, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy & Radiography. In Hong Kong, we have a term of Top-4 Universities. That is for any students inside the first four ranking universities, they can use their own library card to borrow books in the library of other three universities besides their own. Namely they are the Hong Kong University, Chinese University, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and the Polytechnic University. But in the British ranking, the City University ranks fourth in Hong Kong while the first three remains unchanged as local ranking. The local ranking also has an assessment; that is students from which university will be easiest to find a job. The outcome is the first one is Chinese University and the second is Polytechnic University. However, this assessment is done on using the shortest period after graduation to find a job, without concerning the level of remuneration. For practically it really is, that is fresh graduate would not mind the level of payment so much, what they concern most is how to find a job as soon as possible. So underneath are the photos taken by my super-camera. The university seemed to be located among a forest, but actually it is located in the stone forest of downtown area. It is situated just opposite the Hung Hum railway terminus, where the through trains to Beijing, Shanghai and Gunagzhou leave there. The university had been established in 1937 as a vocational college, but in 1994, it became the fourth university in Hong Kong. It has just passed its 70th anniversary in 2007. June 27 Tai Pai Dong 大排檔 Tai Pai Dong 大排檔
What is Tai Pai Dong ?
It is a form of cooked food stall on the road side for basic citizens, the culmination was in the 1950s and 1960s, but now it’s as precious as an antique, and will soon vanish forever in Hong Kong. It was a unique culture and also a group memory of the people Hong Kong.
On the above right photo, the first man dressed in camouflage fatigue uniform (迷彩野戰服) and white shoes is me. You can see the stalls are actually situated in the middle of the road; it is an open market in Central District, the far end of Stanley Street. These two photos shown clearly that on the left side is the pedestrian path, tables are situated in the midst of the road, and the width of the road is just one table plus one stall. On the left photo, you can see the second floors of the building just at the back of the stalls.
Just after the World War II, live was so hard. Consumers had no money to get in restaurant, businessmen also had insufficient fund to establish a restaurant inside of shop premises. Thus the Tai Pai Dong came into existence. Literally, it means a grand parade of stalls. Initially, there were several such kinds of stalls grouped together to have a parade. But you can also see there is a parade of tables. In peak years, a stall can have 50 tables at the same time which even more than a large restaurant, but the cost is much lower and thus higher the profit.
In the economic bloom of the 1970s, such stalls were upgraded into fast food shops. For the government had to control the hygiene condition. Thus license of these stalls stopped to issue, but the existing stalls could carry on running until they quit it or the licenser pass away. Now, 40 years later, those old people actually retired and second generation is running the stalls, but third generation would like to enter into international firms with better fringe benefits and working conditions, so they would not have any successor again.
My close students knew that during working time, I can take anything to feed my stomach; but in the evening, I would like to try various delicious food, varying from French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean......etc; so what is special in this Cantonese Tai Pai Dong, why it attracts me ? Beaches it is quite Cantonese with a reasonable price, it’s not cheap because it’s famous. So even if the dinning environment is quite worse, you still have to line up and book the table first, and wait for a long time before you can actually taste the food.
You can also see that the stall is the kitchen, and there's also a food parade. There would not be any menu for you to pick up form an a la carte, you just point at the food and tell them how to cook. In the lower left photo, the one standing with his back against the camera is the waiter, and on his right side the one in horizontal stripe dress is the cook.
Central District is famous for scarcity of land, how come these stalls can be survived. It is surviving under the footbridge to the mid-level. You can see from the lower right photo, the stalls are situated under the mid-level escalator. When such escalator came into use, it was the largest outdoor escalator system in the world, linking the downtown of Central District with the residents in mid-level. Later the record was overwritten by the outdoor escalator system in the Ocean Park.
These stalls opens day and night, while some other people would say there are also some Tai Pai Dongs in the Temple Street. Mind that those in Temple Street only open in the evening, for in the day time, a lot of vehicles are running on the Temple Street.
Tai Pai Dong is a special eating culture in Hong Kong, for those that just use one or two years to study master course in Hong Kong should not forget to visit these stalls. Some might not accept the eating environment, but if you can try something special, it’s worthwhile to pay a visit to it. Since it’s a diminishing industry, perhaps a few years later when you come back to Hong Kong, you can not find it again.
The footbridge overhead is the escalator to mid-level

This article also appears in my other blog of http://xiaonei.com/danielyue2009 and normally will be renewed on Saturday midnight
June 07 English Test of TEM-8 & CET-6 英語專業八級考試 English Test of
TEM-8 & CET-6
英語專業八級考試
English in 600 AD English in 900 AD English in 1100 AD
There’s quite a unique phenomena, for students that are close to me, they all strong in English. Actually what I am teaching is Finance and not English. The fact is that I have not drive away those students that are weak in English, it is them automatically stay away from me.
Nearly all of my close students has passed the College English Test (CET) of Grade 6, some even passed with distinction. And for those that are qualified, the Test for English Majors (TEM) Grade 8 is a must.
I have never sit for such exams but from what I have contacted, a lot of students have passed those exams and some even get high scores, but their performances were quite irregular and uneven. That is some of them are in a very high standard, and some of them are not so ideal. On the other hand, I have also met some student not qualified to sit for the TEM-8, but still their English still shocked me.
Once a student named Catherine gave a presentation on the financial market and her intonation was so poetic and left a deep impression upon me. Immediately she reminded of me the scene in 30 years ago, how I shocked my lecturer with a poetical presentation on Philosophy. The happiest hour of a teacher is that he can pick up a star of tomorrow as how he was picked up many years ago. That was a student in year three of the Bei Jing Foreign Studies University. I have a lot of students from that university but they were from the business school. So I was a little bit waived how come a business school can nourish such a student. At last I got it. She was actually from the Faculty of English. So if you have the actual strength you sure can be admired.
Another student was strong in written English, that I shown her homework to the whole class and ask the class to learn from her which as known as Candy. Her undergraduate was in Harbin a postgraduate in the Poly U of HK. She’s really in the business school. A few months later, when I helped her to revise her CV for job hunting, I learned that she has won the second prize in the nation wide English contest in mainland China. Up till now, she is the only student that I shown the homework to the whole class to learn from it. Again, if you have the actual strength you sure can be admired. She is not qualified to sit for the TEM-8 because she is not in the English faculty and the former one was too young to sit for it at that time.
That is the best standard of English I have met from my students were non-TEM-8 students.
As for CET-6 too many of my students have already passed this block, so it seemed not like a block. May be in other scope of social activities they are superb, but too many stars around me is a fact that seemed not so prominent. How about the TEM-8, I cannot feel great shock and only surprise and consolation that someone teaching Chinese can have a high standard of English. In Hong Kong, Chinese means Chinese Literature and is taught to Chinese people, but in mainland Chinese is very often a language taught to foreigners. So for students learning Chinese, the standard of mainland in spoken English is much higher than those in Hong Kong.
But what I have realized does not completely like that. Students that passed the TEM-8 are not so superb as envisaged, why ? Not because of the exam, but of the individual. That means their prime time has already gone with the exam. Before the exam, they might spend 3 - 6 months for preparation and some even more time; from morn till night and night till morn. A vivid youth became a book worm. Everything in the mind is concerning the syllabus. But as soon as the block is passed, everything passed away also. That is why people complain students sometimes study for exam rather than for themselves. For after the exam, whether the standard can be keep up, it depends on the environment. When one lives in an environment that does not need the demand of the exam, one's standard surely would go backward.
Owing to the internationalization of China, nowadays you can find an ideal English learning environment in mainland more often than past times. But the problem is that you still have to keep it up. Otherwise when you leave that environment, everything will go back to zero. As for those who wish to find a job in Hong Kong, I strongly recommend them to take the TOEFL or IELTS. English in Hong Kong is more important than mainland. There are a lot of foreign firms and organizations in Hong Kong. They require a high standard of English for admission. They would not know what is TEM-8 and CET-6; they only know TOEFL and IELTS. It is a fact.
In Chinese we have a saying of learning is like sailing a boat against the stream, but in western countries, their saying is there's no royal road to learning. The Chinese saying implies that if you don’t go ahead, you will be forced backward; but the western saying implies that all the way it’s very hard and you can hardly have a rest.
Learning is a life long task and should be given up after the exam ! This article also appears in my other blog of http://xiaonei.com/danielyue2009 and normally will be renewed on Saturday midnight

This is the second half of the article of last week, which was "Classical Love in Reality". The approach of this week is from another angle, which is Japanese cartoons instead of Korean TV drama and Taiwanese fiction of last week. The above are tarot cards for divination. There are over 300 sets of popular tarot cards circulating, and the above manufacturer is known as Clamp. I have 11 sets of tarot for different purposes, but the Clamp is specially use for love affairs only.
Why are they so attractive? Japanese cartoons dominated the world in the 1990s, especially welcome by lassie, for they could materialize the imaginative world. That means when my students were in their primary schools, they were brought up with Japanese cartoons.
The following video is another version of the theme song of Romeo & Juliet, sung with Japanese cartoons as a background. You can see typical lassie with large shinning eyes and long hair, then a slim lad appears to be the prince white horse as an idealistic element of love; or an inevitable element of the non-existing dreaming world. May 17 不朽香江名句----Top 4 Asian Universities, 3 from Hong Kong不 朽 香 江 名 句 Top 4 Asian Universities 2009
3 from Hong Kong
The Champion ---- University of Hong Kong
The 1st runner-up ---- Chinese University of Hong Kong
The 2nd runner-up ---- University of Tokyo
The 3rd runner-up ---- Hong Kong University of Science & Technology
Why so many mainlanders want to further their graduate studies in Hong Kong ? Thus comes the answer !
Among the top 4 Asian universities of 2009, 3 of them are from Hong Kong. Hurray ! It’s not an easy job indeed ! The honor belongs to every single student, lecturer, and staff who blaze the trail. Even more, 7 million inhabitants of Hong Kong are playing a part of the invisible hand to push up the keen competition. A demanding society thus generated such universities, that's why I always said to study abroad actually is to learn from the society rather than the university, otherwise you can just buy Hong Kong books and invite Hong Kong lecturers to mainland to teach. Asia is a large continent. Hong Kong is just a special administrative zone, rather likely a very small city. There are a lot of countries; for large country as China; highly developed country as Japan of which the people claimed they are Europeans living in Asia; developing countries as India; energetic country as Singapore; future star of tomorrow like Korea and Taiwan; rich petroleum countries as that of Middle East....... Where is Hong Kong ? When you put a dot on the world map, that dot would be too large ! When you arrive Hong Kong you will feel too small ! In terms of population, any large city in China or other Asian countries are more than that of Hong Kong, no need to use the whole country to compare.

May 10 How to dismantle the Hong Kong Bank Building如何拆下匯豐銀行大廈How to dismantle the
Hong Kong Bank Building
如何拆下匯豐銀行大廈
The building of the Hong Kong bank can be said as one of the most special buildings in the world; for it can be dismantled completely and move back to Britain and re-assemble it as that of toys of building blocks for children. But it is not a toy; it is a genuine bank building of 42 stories.
Most of my students had been with me to the Hong Kong Bank for it’s just by the side of our Cheung Kong Centre; and I have shown them how to dismantle this gigantic building. It was built in 1978, planned in the early 1970s. Owing to the question of handover of the 1997 problem, this building was special built to be dismantled. In the 1970s, actually people in Hong Kong were quite afraid of the Chinese Communist Party. Most of them said should the Communist China take over Hong Kong, they would flee away, and no matter Chinese people or foreigners they had the same idea then. For the Communist Party at that time were quite different from now.
So how about the investors ? They have invested a lot of money in the colony of Hong Kong. If the Chinese Communist really came at that time, all businessmen would fly away. Then what would be the use of staying in Hong Kong thereof ? So when they go back to their hometown, they should carry as much as they could. And that’s why prompted the idea of bring back the whole head office building of the Hong Kong Bank back to Britain.
So on design of such a building, it was built to be dismantled. Every portion of the building from outer curtain wall to interior design, they were built in forms of blocks on the ground first, and then hung up to assemble by screws as shown in the above and lower photos.
Mind that the whole building was not plunged firmly onto the ground and you can see a clear leak between the building and the ground as in the lower photos. A lot of my students had taken precious pictures here to demonstrate the peculiarity of it. ![]() ![]() So when you really want to dismantle it, you must dismantle from the centre point first, as it is thus built. Take a look at the outer appearance of the building that is at the top of this article, you can find it is in a symmetrical shape. That is the left is identical to the right. Everything found in the left can also be found simultaneously in the right. So when you begin to dismantle it from the centre point, all components from four sides would me broken down easily.
In the 1980s, when a 40 stories building had to be built the cost was around 1 billion Hong Kong dollars, so when you gave up such a building in Hong Kong and rebuild another in Britain, totally it would only cost 2 billions. But these building cost 5 billion Hong Kong dollars, when including the freight, dismantling and re-assembling charges it should be over 10 billions. That is 10 times of a normal building. But this is a matter of confidence; it was so invaluable and could not be measured terms of money.
Why is this building so attractive ? Because in front of it there’s a Statue Square, that is spacious enough for people to take admiration to such a grand building. Actually, whether the building is attractive or not, besides the own design, the major factor lies in the plaza in front of it. For it’s the only way to let people savor it concisely. So if it’s just a building built along the road side without a plaza, it would not be as attractive as all that. The Statue Square of course belongs to the government, but the management fee is paid by the bank thus.
Those who have been to the Paris Tower and the Tokyo Tower can surely find the difference. The Eiffel Tower in Paris was built with a grand plaza in the front and the length extents for over 600 meters, but the Tokyo Tower was built among the houses of the urban area without any park or square around it. The difference is as clear as all that.
Below an aerial view of the Hong Kong Bank with a large plaza know as Statue Square in the front, so you can give full admiration to it as least better than the Tokyo Tower.

April 26 International Baccalaureate 國際大學預科文憑International Baccalaureate 國際大學預科文憑
This is the champion of the world 這張就是國際狀元的證書 This is a full mark diploma of the International Baccalaureate Exam. It’s not me, but a lot of my students know that I am talking about my son.
In mainland, you have the joint matriculation exam when entering into universities, but how about other parts of the world ? Do they have a unified exam for such international students applying for world wide universities? It is know as the “International Baccalaureate”. This exam was at first used by the United World College and now is widely accepted as an international exam for matriculation, as that of you TOEFL, IELTS, GRE or GMAT, its abbreviation is IB. But the difference is that it still have thesis as that of the undergrad and postgrad. This exam is provided in 3 languages, English, French and Spanish.
That means if you want to sit for this exam, you should enter into an international school using either of the above languages to lead the course and and that's why mainlanders would think this term is quite strange to them. Chinese is only a selective language. As I have said, students in Hong Kong are not just aiming at perfecting their English standard; they are aiming at the second or even third foreign language even in middle school.
As a rule, the greatest weak point of all exams is that it tends to evaluate a student by a single trial, and it may be unfair when a student does well in general time but dissatisfactory in the assessment. Thus this exam would make a balance in this point. Therefore it is divided into internal and external assessment. That is the behavior of the student in the routine college time will also be assessed so as to avoid any mis-evaluation during one single exam. That means experiments in the laboratory, oral presentation during class, and even projects at home will also be evaluated. Therefore it is not easy to get full marks in all subjects.
Because it assessment is different from others, so it is highly appreciated. For its assessment cannot be carried out in other schools when they have large number of students or when they do not use the above languages as a media of teaching.
Most of my students know that my son is the champion of the world, for he has got full marks in the IB exam. So this champion is not only in Hong Kong or China or Asia, but in the world. Above is the full mark diploma, altogether candidates have to sit for 6 subjects, the highest score of each subject is 7 marks, the total score for 6 subjects thus is 42 marks. But for thesis, that is essay writing, the full mark is 3 marks, that make the full mark to 45 as shown.
So this is an example of encouragement, it other people can, why not you ? Most of my students also know that my academic results were a complete failure. Anyway its an example of just keeping ever onward, and never backward, for every cloud has a sliver lining !
Since the requirement of the society nowadays is quite different from former decades. Therefore no matter for exam system or education system, its quite far away a concept from ancient decades. This is an advanced exam system, coping with the education system I talked about last week, that is the Li Po Chun United World College for your reference: http://danielyue2007.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!6389FF20030AA0EE!2399.entry
When you want to understand more the IB, you can enter into their official website :
So thus come to a time to answer the questions which rose so often by my students. Why I was so furious in leading them to recognize the other part of Hong Kong during their internship ? Why I have to keep so close a contact with them even after the internship ? Why I say my job starts really after students left Hong Kong ? Education nowadays cannot be confined inside classroom or library only, and that why various internship have to come into existence. Each individual participant should be treated as a future star rather than a general student. Force-feed education is outdated and education of love and care has already replaced it.
The world is full of warmth and love, and sees how you approach it.
The following is a funny Cantonese song for students, the name is "Pupils "(學生哥) :
April 19 Li Po Chun United World College 李寶椿聯合世界書院Li Po Chun United World College
李寶椿聯合世界書院
These are not student activities, they are the college entrance exams
This is an international school in Hong Kong. When you want to enter into it, just application is not enough, they won’t have traditional entrance exam in papers. Instead they would ask you to spend a day in their campus for evaluation as in the above shown photos. Besides lecturers, each applicant will be accompanied by a senior student throughout the day. That day is known as the Challenge Day. That means if you want to enter such an international school, even experts in exam cannot have a sure guarantee. Or you can say their entrance exam lasts for the whole day long, without any paper exam, without dashing at your professional knowledge of the subjects required. Why ? ! ?
Nowadays, education is not aiming at picking specialist in taking exams, instead they are nourishing capable person for the future society. Therefore they won’t use a test to pick up experts of exam, but they want to have a tailor-made evaluation of each applicant. They want to understand their career and their method of handling things and getting along with people. That is to evaluate the character of a person rather than mere knowledge of certain peculiar subject. This is the aim of modern education and thus the entrance exam should cope with their target.
All together there are 12 United World College all around the world, in Hong Kong it’s known as the Li Po Chun United World College. The present world wide president is the Jordan Queen, and hororary president is the former South African president Nelson Mandela. The local sponsor is the current chief executive of Hong Kong. Therefore last term was Tung Chee-Hwa and this term is Donald Tsang.
Mind that the education system in Hong Kong is still using the British system which is different from that of mainland. We have five years middle school and two years preparatory class and three years university. While in mainland it is using the American system of 3 years junior middle school, 3 years senior middle school and 4 years university.
In Hong Kong the middle school is sub-divided into 3 years junior middle school which is know as Form 1, Form 2 and Form 3; while the senior high school will carry on known as Form 4 and Form 5. Then we will have a public exam. And the preparatory class (大學預科) ,is known as Form 6 and Form 7. The preparatory class of the United World College is aiming at the level of Form 6 and From 7. By the year 2012, the education system will go back to that of the American system which is the same of mainland.
Then what’s the difference of an international school and a local high school. Actually, international schools can be subdivided into two types, one for parents and another for students. There are actually a lot of international schools in Hong Kong. For example when Japanese workers are working in Japanese firms in Hong Kong, the whole family might stay in Hong Kong for a certain period of time. Thus an international school for Japanese people is needed in order theeir kids can learn the culture and language of their own country thoroughly. When people from other countries in Hong Kong want to learn more about the Japanese culture, they can also enter for it. How about Korean, their people are not as much as that of Japanese in Hong Kong and is not able to maintain an international school of their own ? Then they can enter the Canadian international school in Hong Kong, to learn more English and foreigner language, so as to have a world wide acceptance than they are learning the colloquial Cantonese dialect. These schools are established for parents only.
But how about for students, some students want to learn more about international culture, they want to know things around the world rather than any single country or just their own country. They want to have a vivid learning environment and not just reciting books and copying data for reports. They want to make friends with world wide student face to face and not just through the computer. They want to experience the most advanced system of education in the world. For some other people always said that the western education system is much better than that of Asia. Thus they just shift the whole system and the whole school to Hong Kong and to 11 other parts of the world and establish the United World College. In this college, what they want to nourish are students of comphrensive knowledge and splendid characters. Students must stay in the dormitory which is of 4 people per room, and one of them will be a Hongkonger and the rest 3 will be from other parts of the world, so as to let them have an interchange of culture. There target of matriculation will be aiming at world famous universities and not just famous university in Hong Kong or Asia.
Beisdes in-depth knowledge in peculiar subjects, they still have four more important aspects : community service (voluntray job in the society), campus service, arts and sports.Their exam is not evalauted by any single test, but for the whole period of the two years' programme. That is including daily performance and rountine reports, after-class activities, dormitory behavior and puntuality. Thus it is not easy to get a full mark. Next week I will talk about their exam which is called International Baccalaureate and introduce the champoin of the world to you. The school fee is quite expensive, nearly as double as the gradaute school in Hong Kong. Generally, the annual fee of graduate school is from HK$ 80,000 - 100,00, but this college requires an anuual fee of HK$171,000. Don't worry, for excellent students they have scholarship that you only need to pay half or even one-tenth of the fee including accomodation, meals, books and activity fees.
I have talked about this college in the electronic handouts on the fifth set of the seventh day during the internship, but if you want to understand it more, you can enter the following site : United World Colleges (world-wide)

This article also appears in the xiaonei.com and normally will be renewed on Saturday midnight. April 12 The Princess Ailment 公主病The Princess Ailment 公主病 The Princess most beloved by the world-----Diana
The Princess Ailment is quite rare a psychological disease; for it must meet with a lot of environmental situation in order to be formed and named thus. Actually, a lot of psycho-therapist would not have met even once from the inauguration of their career till retirement. Such as a lot of general doctors might have not met the disease of rabies (mad-dog disease) throughout their professional life even if they have got abundant knowledge thereof. Thus in early stage, this symptom is always mistreated as other symptom.
Normally, the formation of such disease is because of a young girl hit by shocks of life or tragedy in serious of chains, that is within a short time faced several tragedies from various aspects. It’s too hard for her to accept the reality and gradually addicted to such a symptom. It is shown off when an elder male that she likes very much suddenly show off his care to her where she originally never thought of such a care would come from him. Suddenly too far an unfeasible dream came true. Thus she would ask for more care in order to compensate what she has lost. Subconsciously she feel that she should be treated as a princess by the elder male; no matter it is fair or just or not; no matter it is reasonable or not; anyway she needs special care in a great extent from that direction. She would even like to occupy a supreme position in the heart of that male and would not like to she share with others.
Superficially, it is similar but quite different from the bad tempers of young lovers, so is quite often to be misunderstood. For young lovers, the boy should accommodate himself to the girl and the girl would have payback to certain extent. When the boy could not bear it, than the outcome would be breaking up. But such a princess won't be in bad tamper, nor to bully to other people, what she need is only special care from a designated target.
Basically, this ailment would not have any payback to the target, only in rare case would have. Because the relation is not that of lovers and thus seldom has the chance of breaking up; or might be some practical environment reason to link them up. If there's a princess there should be a king-father; otherwise it cannot be formulated. Its a fact that youngsters like to make friends with the same age group, for friends of different age group might have generation gap and not easy to be good friends unless the elder is quite in-trend and welcome by youngsters, or understands the psychological needs of them. The king-father is actually the target of the princess; that is a man in an elderly age and cares for her very much. But he would not relatives around the family. It is someone acquainted by her own social relation outside; for inside the clan, her own father already overwhelmed all the other relatives.
The patient is normally living away from home, for those staying with the family under the protection would seldom occur. Initially, the symptom is quite vague; it only makes the princess wish general friends to be better to her in every singles aspect. But as soon as she got her target and have a suitable response, all symptoms will be derivated. The princess is normally an outgoing person, with a lot of friends and normally more then people of the same background; and thus naturally would include friends of different age group. She actually is a much welcome people, with world wide acquaintance but few intimate friends. Therefore she is extroversion rather than introversion. But most of the clients of psychological diseases are that of introversion. Because of serious of tragedies, the principal may turn into autism (self shut-up). Thus the target will be her all-in-all. And when she finds that the target begins to care for her, thus her request will be more and more, simultaneously she rejects all care from other direction thus. What she requests will be the target people to love her and care for her beyond all reasons, and must accept her willfulness and headstrong deeds; to accept her unreasonable deeds as reasonable; or just simply over-spoiling her. It was because her life was ruined by destiny, subconsciously she has no idea of doing things in a balance manner; that is she would not payback the goodness of the king-father to her; its a single way request for she is the princess and should received, and the responsibility of the king-father is to give out. She has the right to complain the king-father of caring not enough, but he does not have the right to ask her to do things in return or in balance.
As in other psychological symptom, aiming at how to handle it is more practical in curing it. This symptom is non-attacking outward but destroying inward. When she cannot get special care or the care is not strong enough from the king-father, she would have great feeling of losing, and thus would lead to actions or self-destroying or even committing suicide. Therefore, the person that should be handle is not the princess but the king-father. It depends on how much can the king-father tolerate or sacrifice, and how he mange to relieve the princess. It’s no use to press down the emotion of the princess but to let her drain out in suitable direction. Of course time elapse by can cure, but the period wont be short. When handled not in suitable manner, it can arouse other symptom or diseases. When asking the princess to change, it means restraint, it is no use. It can only solve superficial problems, but the fast knot is still in the inner heart. It can re-appear in other form of symptom. When the king-father can lead her to drain out the despondence, thus the ultimate aim of releasing will be reached.
Therefore, its means that when the princess is in a disorder, the one that should attend the therapy is the king-father.
In some rare cases, the princess will also give out her payback ultimately. When it really comes out, the reward will be surprisingly high and even incredible, all her precious thing may be even include her life can be give out when the chance comes, for the king-father is more than a idol inside her heart.
Mind that Princess Ailment is different from Princess Syndrome, even though the Chinese translation is the same. Princess Syndrome is mental dieses describing those young girls who do not have real goal in live, self-centered and not willing to take up responsibilities, and thus have extreme insecurity always; and every one is her target.
What I am now talking about is the psychological symptom of Princess Aliment as in the caption, locked up the target to the king-father only. But one of my close students really got such a symptom and I am in the role of the king-father as well as the psycho-therapyist. It’s not an excellent job but a tough task. Sometimes I nearly want to go back to be a small potato than what the artists are singing in the video underneath of the song " A Real Man ". Those two artists, Hacken Lee and Eason Chan are real men. They are successful people with reputation, numerous fans and money, possessing everything spritually and carnally. But I am arranged by heaven to be in such a position of a real man even if I am not a famous singer or public man like them. The reason is that I am the only person suitable for this position, as ir-replaceble as all that. When I cannot perform my task to a satisfactory level, it might also bring to the self destruction of the princess or even committing suicide. I could not skip off my task. heaven did not ask my consent first before putting me into such a position. I could not refuse and the only way is to accept and perform out the task to a perfect level.
You can treat my article last week is the introduction and this week is the theme. My last article was known as "A good deed is never lost", http://danielyue2007.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=128896099
After all, this week, I have thus to use the following song to encourage myself. For my English-speaking readers, I have also made a translation of the lyrics. So what would you think ? Am I lucky or unlucky ? Please give your comments.

April 06 A good deed is never lost ? 好心是否一定有好報 ?A good deed is never lost ?
好心是否一定有好報 ?
A good conscience is a soft pillow.
Traditional education would teach students must have some good deeds for they will be rewarded by heaven. But its 21st century now, such an issue should be modified. No matter there will be reward or not, good deeds should be carrying out. For a good conscience is a soft pillow, and thus you can lie peaceful and calm.
The world today is much more complicated than ancient days, the evaluation of good and evil are vaguer than before. Normally, things would have two ends to be evaluated. And a lot of things are beyond the single question of just merely good and evil.
When living in the modern world, it’s impossible to stay alone. Sometimes we have to do a lot of things unrewarded, while it’s quite different from that of charity groups or non-government organizations. When entering into voluntary jobs such as the Bei Jing Olympic Games, people understand the essence and would not ask for any reward. And perhaps the reward is the status of participation for not everyone has such a chance.
While in other cases, it might make people have a sense of bullied or cheated when always engaged in no pay jobs. Of course when done periodically, its no harm, but if engaged in a long term task or when it comes frequently, it would raise a question of why me ?
Most of the case will be determined by one's ability and effort of bearing up how much. If one has a rich family background its easy to bear, but there's still a lot of things cannot be measure by money. Sometimes things need you to give out you affection and care, or even other kinds of services.
To love awide is easy to say but not easy to do, especially then reached the level of giving out too much. There might be some doubts.
To love aide is easy to say, but hard to fulfill especially when there's some contradictions one's will. To love awide is not only to love, but very often to sacrifice. Whether its awide or within a certain group of target, its still need to be sacrificed. That is besides your lover or fiancée or fiancé, still someone or something has to sacrifice.
So here a Cantonese song for it.
This article also appears in the xiaonei.com and normally will be renewed on Saturday midnight. March 29 Graduate School EntranceGraduate School Entrance
The upper left photo is taken at Cheung Chau (the meaning is Middle School Raod), upper centre and upper left are in the Hong Kong University.
By this time, procedures in application of graduate school should be all over, and it's about time to announce their results. A lot of students are waiting anxiously for the notice, but you should mind that how do that work in the process of announcement.
Basically, it’s quite different from that of your matriculation exam, and that's why in Chinese graduate school is known as research college. It must have something different from the undergraduate programme otherwise they can just extend the undergraduate one or two more years. So they are using another format which is quite different from that of your matriculation exam 4 years ago.
Apparently, the elimination of a single public exam is the essence, for the trend of evaluation nowadays is based upon a more comprehensive assessment. That is if they carry on the format of matriculation where they use one single exam to evaluate a student, then they will be complained of too obsolete. For even the strongest people might have his weak times, or what we called the Achilles' heels. When a student performs not so ideally in any single exam, he should not be ruled out for the rest of the time he is still quite excellent. So the entrance of graduate school is based upon the evaluation of your 4 years’ university life instead of taking a single public exam. For they are nourishing pillars for the future society and not just picking up experts in taking exams.
There are numerous universities in the world or even within mainland China. How do they carry on such an evaluation ? How can they know the background of every university or every student ? Especially for famous universities in America, application comes from 5 continents of the earth and from 198 countries of the world, in different background of language and culture.
Two sectors of universities they would consider first, one is that the universities that are have joint ventures programme or exchange students programme with them, thus they can know thoroughly on the counter part; especially for those programmme involved, priority seats will be allocated. Or else, they would take out those from famous universities or those that has the similar world wide ranking with them first. Some people would ask, when they hand in their application earlier, will there be any preference. I can say it only would help an early evaluation but not an easy evaluation. That means you need not to wait too long, but late applications normally would be announced in a latter time.
So what will be the format of noticing ? When you just receive a paper letter from a what so call university, normally you need not open the envelope, the content normally is I regret you inform you that......I appreciate your effort......I believe that you are a capable student......good luck. It will be a letter of turning down but with consolation words. When the application is successful, they will notice you by email first and a package of parcel will be sent to you, a lot of forms for you to fill in, and with visa application materials and ......etc.
The result of announcement will be from mid March to August, why take so long ? For they have several rounds. The first round is to do the evaluation on the above said related universities, and the second round will be from famous cities. In China universities from Bei Jing will be considered having a better environment, in Japan it will be Tokyo, in Taiwan its Taipei. Then they will carry on other large cities; in Malaysia it will be Melaka besides Kuala Lumpur; in South Korea it will be Busan besides Seoul; in mainland it will be Shanghai besides Bei Jing.
It’s hard to say how many rounds they would undergo, for nowadays students are applying several graduate schools at the same time. So they must have a deadline first and make sure some students have already gone to other graduate school and forfeit their seats. Normally they would have a deadline for example of 14 days for you to fill in everything and send back to confirm that you really need the seat. But some students are in small cities, and when they receive the parcel, the deadline had already passed. So what can they do ? Never mind, you can apply for extension, but better before the deadline comes. Normally they would have several days for grace period before sending out the second round notice of admission. Just tell them your adversity as early as possible, and normally they would take into consideration.
But in the second round, still a lot of students are applying for several schools and that's why they have a waiting list in America. That is some of them would tell you that you are on the waiting list, neither turned down nor admitted. In Hong Kong, they would not do so. For it means that some students are marked as second class students, and it might hurt them. But in America, thus the applicant can prepare for the future, and they want they procedures to be transparent, and be fair to everyone.
So for those who are neither in famous universities nor studying in large cities of Bei Jing and Shang Hai, what can they do ? In order to avoid keen competition, you better apply graduate school in year three as what I have said in 2007 in another article of Windows Live Space. So the road is long and winded, different people have different encounterment. When the last admission will be announced in August, now the only thing is to wait. Before they have officially sent out the letter of rejection, the hope still exists. This article also appears in the xiaonei.com and normally will be renewed on Saturday midnight. Even gold medalists of the Oylmpic Games who is said to be so strong in health could not achive this. This 1,000 are all above the top gold medalists of China in health condition. Why I pick up such a university to talk about ? Because it has something unique. Not only in Hong Kong, nor in China, nor in Asia, but unique in the world at wide.
The uniqueness lies in its structure. As a rule, people would only aware of the university system in America is different from that of Britain, because the US universities are using a system of 4 years and British universities are in 3 years' system. But still one very prominent thing, is of the structure. Basically, universities can be divided into two sectors, the Americans are know as individual universities, and the British are know as federation.
The universities in China are mainly using the America style, that is every university is divided into several faculties, for example the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Literature or Faculty of Business......and so on; sometimes they are also called college of Science, Literature and Business. These universities are called individual universities.
For British style, there are several format of federations, which are called collegiate universities. They can be even subdivided into Federation, Independent and Dependent colleges. Actually such universities are also existing in America but colloquially are know as British style. The most famous is the University of London, it has several famous colleges just like the University College London, King's College London and the London School of Economics, some people even do not know that they are part of the London University. The London School of Economics is now having a jonit venture programme with the Peking University. But they use the name of LSE-Peking U only and has not mentioned the London U. In America; the most famous one is the California University, where they do not use the term of college, but use the term of campus. That is the California University is composed of several campuses but the London U is composed of several colleges.
So which university is the largest in the world ? Do you still remember what I have told you ? In terms of number of students, it’s the California University. It has altogether 200,000 students in 10 campuses. You can say in other words its ten universities combined to form a large university and that's why they got so many students. But for each component they don’t use the term of college or university, they use the term of campus.
For independent college, the most famous should be the Oxford and Cambridge. The Oxford has 39 colleges and Cambridge has 31 colleges, each has its individual administration, and the Universities only responsible for recruitment and degree conferral.
For dependent college, the federation of dependent college in the Chinese University of Hong Kong is unique in the world. The combination is among the very few in the world, as well as the campus is unique also.
Initially, the Chinese University is a combination of 3 independent colleges namely the Chung Chi College, New Asia College and the United College. Each college originally runs on their own. Inside each college can be further sub-divided into Faculty of Science, Faculty of Literature, and Faculty of Business......etc. In 1963, they combined together and upgraded to an integral university known as the Chinese University. For undergraduates, they have two graduation ceremony, the college graduation and the university graduation. The degree is conferred by the university. Mind that each college has their anthem but the University has no official anthem. Sometimes they would use the song of student union as anthem in unofficial cases. For student unions, they also have college unions and university union.
Inside the campus, 3 colleges occupied their own site, but there's also a site know as the central area, occupied by the university. For some departments established after the combination of these colleges, they belong to the central administration, such as School of Medicine, Dept of Chinese Medicine...etc. For graduate school and PHD programmes, they all belong to central administration. Such a federation is quite different from that of other dependent collegiate universities of the world. Another new college known as Shaw College was established in 1990 and 5 more colleges will be come into existence in 2012. The unification of the above 3 colleges to form a new university is also quite unique. A lot of universities are formed by the unifications of several entities together, but they unified in the name only and the campuses remain the same scattered among. But the above 3 colleges really shifted their campuses together to form the new university and the original campuses had been abolished, actually transformed to the use of other educational institute. That is providing a great convenience for students, lecturers as well as staff. It is the real combination. But inside mainland, they are going the other way round. Because of the trend of university town, a lot of universities have to establish another campus besides the original campus. Thus aroused great inconvenience for students, lecturer and staff. Lecturers in some university even have to pay for their own traveling fee of long distance journey, that is that have to travel to other cities, and not only inside the same city. The most famous example is the Peking U and Tsing Wah U, besides their main campus in Bei Jing, they also have a campus for postgraduates in the university town of Shen Zhen. The spur of Chinese U campus Teaching hotel of Chinese U
overlooking from Shatin Sea the same spur is on the left far side
So what's special in the campus of the Chinese University? You can see from the above left photo, it is not only built by the seaside, but upon a spur of the mountain. That is a sector of the mountain extending out like a hand. Therefore, you can have a truly 270 degree of panoramic view within 10 minutes walking distance. And these 270 degree are all sea views. That's why I always led my mainland students over there. So starting tour in the border between the New Asia College and United College, you can see the Shing Mun River in the south and if you walk one minute to the other side of the car park, you can see the Tai Po sea in the north; and when you keep on going eastward, you can see the Tolo Channel, where there is a pool know as the Harmony Pool (天人合一) ,and you will see artificial water merge into natural water where my 20 supermodels took hundreds of nice shots. They are shown in album (10) of my Windows Live Space.
If you took the MTR from downtown to the Chinese University and get off at the rear part of the train, you will find that as soon as you pass the ticket gate, it is the university; without any transition corridor nor concourse, nor staircase, nor escalator, nor elevator nor whatsoever....... That is just one step out of the ticket gate is the university, and when you step backward is the MTR station. There's neither school entrance nor MTR entrance, just the ticket gate at the site. When you come from suburb side or New Territories side, that you have to alight from the front part of the train to try that gate.
This uniqueness is quite special, that even some of their students are not aware of it, especially those from mainland. So would all students inside try to appreciate and make full use of such a speciality.

催 眠 與 心 理 輔 導
Dept of Psychology, Knowles Building, Franklin Buidling, Student Counselling Centre,
University of Hong Kong Chinese University of Hong Kong
Nowadays,
various psychological and mental problems would beset a lot of students, not
every one would go for counseling. Even if, most of them would only think of
one way, which is psychological counseling and few of them would think of
hypnotherapy.
Too much mental problems can annoy students, and some even several problems come together at the same time. Nowadays, education is what we called student-oriented education. That means every student is treated as a star of tomorrow no matter they are capable of or not. So various helpful services besides studies would be provided; including health, development, as well as mental needs. But because they are too well treated, and thus nourished the sense of dignity; that a lot of students are not willing to ask for help. For they think they are strong enough and should help others and do not want to turn out as a weak person. Under such a condition, problems will swell larger and larger.
Say it simple, the above are doctors which would not prescribe medicine to you. But if you do not treat it well, then it might have the chance to develop into mental disease where you have to attend a doctor in neurology where tranquilizer may be prescribed.
What will a psychological counselor do ? He will give advice to clients. Normally the most popular problems are in the sectors of financial problem, disease, love affair, inter-personal relation, working or studying pressure, family affairs and law breaking affair. The counselor will give the client advices to solve the problems besides words of encouragement. That is at first, he has to listen to the whole story of the clients first, and find out for him what really annoys him. It’s also a venue of draining out the emotion of the clients. When the client finds a suitable person to listen to his or her adversities, it may really help.
But their main purpose is to give advices or feasible way according to their experience and knowledge, and give appropriate encouragement also. That means when someone is in an adverse position, the consultant might ask him to persist on and give somewhat a proverb of “Every cloud has a sliver lining." People might say that everyone also can say such a proverb; or for those highly educated person like a teacher, they might have use the same proverb to encourage others. But the point is that it is said in a professional meeting room, the consultant appears in form of a specialist. So the effect will be great than any of the friends or relatives saying so.
Besides encouragement, they might also give some feasible advice to solve the problem. For example when in worse inter-personal relationship with colleagues or classmates, the consultant may suggest you to take out the question and discuss with the person involved. Some people may also say they were just get ready to do so. But when a specialist is giving out such a suggestion of doing so, it gives the client a concept that this is the most correct way for it is given out by a specialist... Of course the specialist may also give minor amendments to the client plans also. Basically, psychological counselors mainly give you ways of what you should do and you really have to do it in order to solve the problem.
Hypnosis is the practitioner doing something for you and you need not to do anything again. It’s the major difference.
You will be lead to a state between sleeping and awakening. The practitioner
will than eliminate the fears that you are going to face, that is to wipe off
any unnecessary worries inside your subconicousness. For example when one wants
to quit the habit of smoking, a psychological counselor will give him a lot of
advices, but where he will do it, or whether he can persist, it depends on the
client rather than the counselor. But in hypnosis, it depends on the
practitioner rather than the client. The practitioner will wipe off the
client's will of smoking within the attendance of 2 hours, even if the habit
has lasted for 20 years.
To everything, there's a blind point. In the interpersonal relationship, a psychological counselor might ask you to take out the problem to discuss with the persons involved, what about the counter part is no willing to do so ? But in the hypnosis, the practitioner can wipe off all the unnecessary feeling that the counter part levy upon you. This will also happen in the case of love affair, family affair and other personal relationship in college or company. The result is that no unnecessary gossip will hurt you again.
Actually hypnosis can be divided into two parts, one sector is for performance
and another is for curing. The sector for performance can make people to do
supernatural thing which is not my major. Such as to make a delicate girl
become as rigid and an iron and let people walk across her as a bridge. The
hypnosis I practice is for curing only.
Normally, the counseling from government and charity broads will be limited to one hour only, and private counselors will be two hours; and very often, more than one attendance will be needed. But as for Daniel, no limited time and attendance will be confined.

The above English proverb "All roads lead to Rome", is as famous as all that; both in western and eastern society. The Chinese saying normally is written in a word to word translation of 條條大路通羅馬. Thus made Chinese people forgot the authentic Chinese version which comes from the Ming Dynasty of a fung shui literature know as 《黃囊穴髓》 "and the author is "雪樵子". The originally version is as following, you can click to enlarge the pointed verse:
江北江南行腳處、家家有路透長安
Why the English proverb is so famous ? Because the present road systems of the world is based upon the style of Rome. That is on both sides of the road there are pedestrian walkways slightly higher than the main road, so as to let people place on a higher position to see clearly where there were any horse-carts on the main road. Just to help them cross the road safely. Another purpose is used to separate the section of horse-carts away from people clearly, so that horse-cart scan run on their main road freely and people can walk on their pedestrian walkway safely without interfering each other. Nowadays, it can be said that every city of the world is using such a system.
But for Xi An or formerly known as Chang An, it’s also famous for road by not general roads, it’s the Silk Road. It’s also famous for road to another world, which is the terracotta warriors of the underworld, where the westerners simply called them the Mausoleum of the Qin Dynasty. I regret I have no time to visit such a place since my trip was not for sight seeing but for education. However, in the evening, I have been to a theme park known as Cotton Rose Garden of the Great Tang Dynasty (大唐芙蓉園).
Rose garden is a term used by westerners to denote paradise on earth. The present Hong Kong International Arport was built in the 1990's and was known as the Rose Garden Plan. For the whole airport was built upon an artificial island upon the sea, together with the railway and highway systems linking the downtown areas, of which there's also the longest hanging bridge of the world known as Tsing Ma Bridge.
But now in the theme park of Xi An, there is also a largest water curtain screen of the world. Before that, the theme park in Guang Dong Province claimed to the largest screen. And now, it’s actually, three water curtains put together to have a multi media show, and that's why it is the largest. The former in Guang Dong only have one screen.
What does it mean by water curtain ? Actually it is a serious of fountain line up in a dense linear form, thus come out a curtain made of water pillars instead of traditional cloth, and it can be shown in wide outdoor areas with projectors shooting against the curtain. Just as the photos below, actually three projectors shooting at three portions of the curtain to form a multi media show.
Most of the scenic spots in mainland have to levy an entrance fee, but there one in Xi An free of charge, that is the Big wild Goose Tower Park (大雁塔公園) ,they claimed to be the only national class scenic spot which is free of charge. But I have been to another national class scenic spot which is also free from entrance fee. That is the Promenade of Shen Zhen (深圳濱海大道公園)where its famous for red grooves. Students have to take numerous exams throughout the academic life; but nowadays, education systems have modified that people would not evaluate a student just by any single exam. As for the entrance of graduate schools, the GMAT or GRE serious may be the last public exam one has to face. For after that, most graduate school will have their evaluation upon daily assignments or dissertation instead of exam. And even that, the entrance of graduate school now relies on application rather than examinations. But still quite a number of universities require the GMAT or GRE score for reference. In Hong Kong when you apply for the MBA of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, you must have an ideal GMAT score first. They do not have the whatsoever passing line. That means you just submit your score and they would not reject you just of the low score. But they have announced that the average admission score of last year was 650. Thus it becomes a guideline of students sitting for that exam if they want to gain entrance into their graduate school. Theoretically, even if you get a lower mark than this, they would still consider; but of course a higher score will be in a favorable condition of gaining access to the graduate school.
Then how to sit for such kind of exams which may be the final gate of all public exams. A lot of students would carry on by self-study, but if you are in Bei Jing, there would be some classes especially for such exams; since the colleges in Bei Jing are densely grouped together. But if you are in other cities, it might be a problem. Both the time and expense would be a burden, especially when you are having the final year run of the university course; it’s not easy to stay away from the university to attend other courses.
Nearly everyone knows that I went up to Xi An earlier this month to have a private tuition for a candidate of the GMAT. She is one of my adaptive daughters who is aiming for graduate studies in Hong Kong. In Nov, her score was just 600 and Dec 620, but she told me that in the mock exam she could reach 650. Thus I went up one week ahead of the GMAT to have the final revision with her in the provincial library. Done ! Her scored reached 690 after the two days final sprint.
The score is not the highest, I still have a lot of students getting higher score than this, but the progress is the fastest. For I only have two days time for revision and by the end of the first day, much progress had been seen. And actually how this could be done. Daniel is not a magician. The method I used was quite traditional, that was to explain the multiple choices one by one, but I insisted a break every 90 minutes. The revision is taken in the library and of course a better place than home. Above all, when someone fly from thousand miles away to have the revision, the confidence thereof will be even greater than the practical academic solutions.
Nowadays, people pay more attention on substantial factors than for concrete factors. That is intangible factors are very often more important than tangible factors. What I want to say hard studying is not suitable for students of this era. Don't just keep on clenching your teeth for hard running. It was the manner before the Second World War and not now. In the 21st century, what people should do is to find out all the intangible factors:
So try to stick to the same seat in the library daily, if it’s occupied, try to get the seat around your corner or own section, or at least same floor. Try to encourage yourself rather than forcing yourself. That is set a certain target of struggling, but when you are tired, go for nap or a walk, don’t force yourself to keep on the seat for several hours incessantly. Setting the same hour of starting and ending daily, Above all, confidence is the most important thing of this story. Things done in two days revision of course were quite limited, but the blowing up of confidence would overwhelm everything. So one must blow up one's confidence no matter what means you are using. Of course not everyone is lucky enough to have someone to fly thousands miles for private tuition, but you must pick up your pass success and enlarge it inside your mind as a target.
In the practical menu, what I used was traditional teaching method which was quite tedious indeed. In taking such exams, you must overcome the gap of monotonousness, using the method of anatomy as that of a medical doctor. By the way, side readings are also very important. Don’t just keep an eye on the syllabus, the requirements nowadays are far and wide than you can expect. That means you must improve your general knowledge first in order to handle the questions easily.
Lessening once pressure is also very important; don’t just keep on pushing yourself too hard. As I have said, my academic results were extremely poor when I was in my college life. Even poorer than my worst students a lot. But now as you know, I am the most favorite teacher of a lot of students. So exams are not as important as all that. In order to blow up your confidence, if you think that I am a good teacher, I can tell you that your academic results are in fact better than me. Do you still remember that I told you the story of complete failure of Winston Churchill on the first day of internship? So when you know that your academic records are better than your favorite teacher, this would be the greatest confidence for you.
Lastly come to the photos. Lower left is not seven-eleven, but my hotel. The middle is the Provincial Library of Shaan Xi, the lower right is the smart student I am talking about, my supermodel as well as one of my adaptive daughters.
